Bowed Well String Ensemble

The Bowed Well Ensemble is a small string ensemble which is comprised of local adult haliburtonian string players. We range in levels and abilities, and play mostly classical quartet style pieces with the occasional pop or fiddling piece thrown in. We have ideas of putting on our own first full performance in december of 2013.

The Golden Notes

This group is also sometimes known as the Haliburton Youth Strings Ensemble. It is a relatively new beginner ensemble for kids. So far, we play a repertoire of a few quartets and trios. Ages of our members range from 7 years up to 15 years old.

Houghton Sister Strings

A Quartet of three sisters; Jeska, Bethany and Laura Houghton, with Barbara Hart on second violin. We play for weddings, conferences, dinners, and for full performances.

The Moontones

Is a Jazz Trio which has Kris Kadwell on guitar and vocals, Ian Pay on double bass, and Bethany Houghton on cello and lead vocals. Accasionally Carl dixon Joins us on Drums fo a more upbeat dancing sound. We play mostly Jazz standards like Fly me to the Moon, and the Girl from Ipenema, etc.

Highlands Chamber Orchestra

A small sized community orchestra which puts on performances two or three times per year. This is a relatively new orchestra, with Daniel Manley Conducting. come and see our next concert! May 26th 2013, at 3:00 at the Northern Lights Pavillion in Haliburton.

Ernie Demuth and Bethany Houghton

A husband and wife duet of guitar and fiddle. We've played weddings, soundtracks for videos, and various other performances. We occasionally frequent open stages and jam sessions.
